Chapter Seven - Leave A Lasting Legacy

In 12-step recovery, I learned to HALT when I am Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired. Staying disciplined to take care of myself is a conscious commitment. I love my life. Joy loves her life. This is such an incredible gift just to say that!

God showed me how to FRET not. So at the cross I leave Fear, Resentment, Envy, and Toxic anger. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret—it only causes harm (Ps 37:8).

You have to want it. The secret is desire. When you identify your desire, you will find your purpose. The desire is your call. Misplaced desire is misspent desire. Your spirit is like a vacuum that was meant to be filled with God and by God. And the contingency clause is willingness. You just need to show up and be willing.

We were meant to be well—spirit, soul, and body. Because we are a threefold being, when one of these areas is damaged, it will affect the others. Healing begets healing. The results of spiritual and emotional healing often bring emotional and physical healing in their wake.

You are second to none. You are unique, unlike any other. You are meant to make a difference. You are born with the spark of divinity. It is the spark that ignites the fire. God birthed in you this feeling of greatness which becomes the foundation upon which your dream is built. It is not of you, and that is why it stays in your heart.

The events that take place in our life define us and impel us. These defining moments birth in you a desire that determines or directs your destiny. It may have been a recurring event or a one-time experience. Regardless, it defines you and reveals your purpose.

Emotions give strength to our decisions when they instruct us, speaking to the bigger picture. They validate decisions resulting from your defining moments. God uses these defining moments to bring forth the gifts given you and already in you.
