Chapter Six - Lessons Learned

Process is everything. By definition, process is a continuing development involving many changes; it is a particular method of doing a number of steps or operations.

You have to be willing and you have to catch the lessons you see in your mentor if you want to learn. As a mentor, you need to be patient with the process. If you keep on doing the same old thing, you’ll keep on getting what you’ve always gotten.

Are you willing to do differently? Are you willing to risk a new outcome by employing new actions and behavior?

My personality makes me unique, but I don’t think I am different from anyone else in regard to my human nature. Joy and I are sharing our experience, strength, and hope with you, but some of these lessons will mean more to you than others because our personalities and experiences are all different. You must learn your own lessons from your own issues of life.

I had to learn how to forgive at a deeper level than most. That’s where Joy’s uniqueness and mine joined so that I could catch what I needed. Mentoring teaches the basics and also tailor teaches those lessons needed.

Our uniqueness has common ground which is why Joy and I fit so well. And why I learned those lessons tailor made for me from her. Do you have the basics down? Do you see the tailor made lessons you need to learn or share?
